A CHARITY which provides respite breaks for underprivileged and disadvantaged children in Bradford and across Yorkshire has received a housebuilder’s cash donation to help purchase a new holiday home.

The Principle Trust children’s charity received £1,000 from Persimmon Homes' West Yorkshire’s Community Champions scheme.

The respite care charity provides children with life-limiting conditions, disabilities or those facing financial hardship with a free holiday.

With already three caravans in Blackpool and an adapted log cabin in Ribblesdale Park, Gisburn, The Principle Trust is fundraising to purchase an additional fully adapted log cabin.

Sally-Ann Greene, from The Principal Trust said “We are delighted to receive Persimmon Homes’ support. Our respite holidays make such a huge difference to the children and their families.

“Our current holiday homes are extremely over-subscribed which is why we want to add an additional cabin in a new destination.

“We have raised almost half of our £125,000 target and it’s the support of companies like Persimmon Homes that is going to help make our dream a reality, we are very grateful.”

Each month Persimmon Homes Yorkshire gives away up to £1,000 to two community groups or charities in the areas its operating, matching money they have already raised themselves.
