A PERSISTENT beggard who sat at traffic lights pretending to be homeless has been arrested and is due in court today.
The beggar was picked up by officers from Bradford East Neighbourhood Policing Team at a traffic light junction in Leeds Road last night at around 10.50pm.
Police said the man was holding a sign claiming to be homeless, but he is in fact not homeless.
He was charged with an offence and was remanded in custody due to appear at court today.
The maximum penalty for begging is a £1,000 fine.
