A COMMUNITY centre has received a grant of £2,100 to provide 12 monthly 'Happy Cafes'.

The grant has been awarded to the Sedbergh Youth & Community Centre, Huddersfield Road, by the Provident Social Impact Fund.

Happy Cafes follow the Action for Happiness concept which helps people to connect with each other and share inspiration with the aim of creating happier lives and communities.

Project co-ordinator Lucy Carter said: “We would like to thank the Provident Social Impact Fund and Leeds Community Foundation for the funding which will help us to provide twelve fantastic Happy Cafes over the next year.

"We are inviting any one to come along who feel they would like to be happier and belong to something bigger, whether they would like to improve their well-being and confidence or share their ideas and thoughts."

The cafes take place on the last Friday of the month between 10am and noon.

Admission is £2 and volunteers are welcome.
