WORK has had to be halted at a housing development site today following an overnight break-in.
Thieves broke into Keepmoat's Heron's Reach site in Allerton Lane, Allerton, and broke into the sales office, where a small number of items were taken.
Because of the disruption caused, some labourers were sent home as early as 8am as no work could be done at the site.
A spokesperson for Keepmoat Homes said: “Between 5.30pm on Sunday, April 14, and 7am on Monday 15, the site and sales offices at our Heron's Reach development in Allerton Lane in Bradford were broken into.
"The break in resulted in a small number of items being taken and reduced levels of work on the site today.
“We are currently helping West Yorkshire Police with its investigation, reviewing our security on the site and replacing the locks and shutters on the office buildings.
"The site will return to full activity work tomorrow with the sales office reopening on Thursday, April 18.”
The site is currently being transformed into a 292 home residential area of two, three and four bedroom homes.
