LATEST: Man suffers serious injuries after he is shot in Holme Wood
THERE has been an alleged firearms discharge in Holme Wood this morning, with a large police presence currently at the scene.
Ward Councillor Alan Wainwright (Labour, Tong) was quick to express his disbelief at what had happened.
He said: "All I can tell you is that it was a firearms discharge and police are making enquiries.
"But I've said it before, one firearms discharge is one too many.
"I almost expect this now, but with a lot of people having been locked up recently, I thought it might have calmed down in Holme Wood.
"It seems not. We even had a police helicopter at the incident for about an hour too."
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson confirmed that officers were called to the incident on Grayswood Crescent at 11:30am.
