GASWORKS will begin on Great Horton Road today and last for 10 weeks.

Northern Gas Networks (NGN), is investing £210,000 to upgrade the system and will involve replacing nearly 800 metres of old metallic pipe with new durable plastic pipe, to ensure the safe supply of gas for years to come.

Rolling two and three-way temporary traffic lights will be placed on Great Horton Road, between Shearbridge Road and Richmond Road from today until June 23.

Back Laisteridge Lane will be closed at the junction of Great Horton Road for around two weeks, from May 20 to June 2.

Anna Mycoe, business operations lead for NGN, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these works, and thank our customers for their patience and support in getting them completed as quickly as possible”.
