Event
THE highs and lows of the life of a country vet will be revealed in an Evening with Julian Norton at Bradford’s Studio theatre on Thursday, May 2.
Julian is the star of popular Channel 5 series The Yorkshire Vet, following him at work in and around the Yorkshire Dales.
He can also be seen on Channel 5’s Springtime on the Farm.
The best-selling author of two titles, A Yorkshire Vet Through the Seasons and Horses, Heifers and Hairy Pigs: The Life of a Yorkshire Vet, Julian has his latest book, The Diary of a Yorkshire Vet, published in September.
For over 20 years he has been based in rural North Yorkshire, working with a range of animals great and small.
Julian, a firm believer in the traditional mixed practice, works in Boroughbridge with his wife, Anne, who is also a vet.
In his Evening With show he talks about the variety of animals he has treated - llamas near Brimham Rock, greedy sheep in Cold Kirby, hair pigs at Helmsley, eagles, seals, pups, rabbits, exotic pigs, alpacas – and human characters he’s also met along the way.
Expect amusing and revealing anecdotes bringing to life the drama and humour, passion and commitment of the daily routine of a rural vet.
The show will be competed by Yorkshire poet, writer and performer, Kate Fox.
