CROWDS have flocked to the new TJ Hughes store this morning after it opened in the Kirkgate Shopping centre.
Centre manager Catherine Riley cut the ceremonial ribbon to open the new department store, which has become the new anchor store of the centre with 22,000 sq ft of floor space.
Members of the public were given a warm welcome from staff as they entered the shop, keen to take advantage of opening offers and rewards and to grab a bargain.
Today marks the return of TJ Hughes to Bradford, eight years after its former store in Southgate was closed.
Centre manager Gerry Cairns said he was very excitied about the opening, after the chain returned to Bradford by popular demand.
It is hoped the new store will be a central part of the rejuvenation of the centre, which is set to welcome popular store Boyes when it relocates from North Parade.
