SHIPLEY police have reported that a total of 63 house burglaries were recorded in the area in March.

In their monthly report they said that this included garages and outbuildings and 11 incidents were attempted break-ins.

They also said there were 35 thefts from vehicles and seven thefts of vehicles.

One bicycle was also stolen.

Included in the list of March arrests of note are the arrest of two males for four burglaries, one theft from a motor vehicle and one criminal damage. The offences were in Bingley and Halifax.

Also a male was jailed for six months for carrying a knife. He had been arrested in Shipley for shoplifting and a search by officers uncovered the knife in his bag.

Four males were also arrested at an address in Shipley on suspicion of burglary in Idle. A stolen vehicle was recovered and two of the males were recalled to prison.

The monthly report also lists the execution of drugs warrants at three addresses in the area. Two resulted in the seizure of large amounts of cannabis in Bingley and Shipley while another warrant was executed in the West Royd area of Shipley.
