A DEAL on “favourable terms” has been agreed to enable Oxenhope Parish Council to buy a prominent village beauty spot.
Council chairman Cllr Ken Eastwood confirmed the council had successfully negotiated with the owner of the Horseshoe Dam, in Station Road, and was now awaiting completion of conveyancing before taking over the site.
Commenting during his annual report to the council, Cllr Eastwood added the council had also been heavily involved with helping volunteers to improve the Rose Garden, at the junction of Station Road and Hebden Bridge Road.
“I’ve been delighted to see a Friends Group established,” he added.
