EDUCATION bosses will provide an update on work to turn around the fortunes of a Pupil Referral Unit at a meeting tomorrow.

The Bradford District PRU was placed in special measures following a highly critical Ofsted report in 2017.

At a meeting of Bradford Council's Children's Services Scrutiny Committee on Wednesday afternoon, members will hear what has been done to improve the school.

Since then there has been changes in management and it as announced last year the school would become part of the Exceed Academy Trust.

Bradford District Pupil Referral Unit on track to come out of special measures

A report to the committee says: "As a result of a number of significant changes in District PRU since summer 2018, which not only include changes in leadership and management and governance, but also safeguarding, staffing structures, the curriculum, the use of teachers to teach to their specialisms, more effective support and challenge from the Local Authority, the recent monitoring inspection in December 2018 judged that leaders and managers are taking effective action towards the removal of Special Measures."

The Committee meets in City Hall at 4.30pm tomorrow.
