Mystery surrounds the appearance of a large number of car parts next to a rural road in the Bradford district.

The parts have seemingly been dumped beside Station Road, Queensbury, and were spotted by a passer-by today.

The passer-by told the T&A: "It all seemed very strange - the oddest bit of fly-tipping I've ever seen.

"They seemed to be the parts from two Volvos - possibly a black one and a red one.

"There seemed to be the mid sections of chassis that had been cut between the back and front of the vehicle.

"It wasn't a neat job like you'd see at the garage - they had been roughly cut and there were jagged edges. All the fuel lines were still attached and they'd been cut too.

"There was also a fuel tank, there's a bit of windscreen and other things that had been roughly hacked off. It's all very bizarre.

"The parts all seemed very clean and looked pretty new."

Describing the location in more detail, the passer-by said: "As you go down Station Road out of Queensbury down towards the tunnel, it's dumped at the side of the unmade road on the left. There's just farmers' fields around - nothing close for 100 metres."
