ARMED police have arrested a man in George Street, Liversedge, after a firearms incident.

Officers went to the address at about 1.20 this morning and arrested the male on suspicion of making threats to kill.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said that no weapons had been found at the house in Liversedge and enquiries were continuing.

The incident is believed to be related to reports of a man threatening to use a firearm in the Lockwood area on Huddersfield on Friday evening.

Officers went to an address in St Stephen's Road, Lockwood, but found it to be empty and then moved on to Liversedge where the arrest was made.
