KEIGHLEY Cat Care is purring with delight at its latest funding boost.

The charity has received a £12,000 grant from Support Adoption For Pets.

Sara Daniel – for Keighley Cat Care, whose volunteers run a rehoming centre – said: "The grant will cover some of our vet bills and the cost of caring for the cats we rescue, rehabilitate and rehome.

"The cost of offering the best care for the pets we take in can often add up, so that’s where the grant will be a huge help to us.

"We are exceptionally thankful to the Support Adoption For Pets team."

Since it was founded by Pets at Home in 2006, Support Adoption For Pets has helped hundreds of rehoming centres and animal welfare organisations across the UK.

Its grant funding co-ordinator, Laura Messenger, said the organisation was delighted to be supporting Keighley Cat Care.

"It is a real privilege to be able to help such an important charity that works tirelessly to care for and rehome pets in need," she added.

"It's doing a remarkable job."
