A NEW system to make it easier for people to report planning breaches in Bradford has been launched.

The online system for reporting planning breaches has been created by Bradford Council, and makes it easier to report problems by offering a simpler and clearer layout and features interactive maps allowing people to zoom in and easily identify and report locations.

The new setup will streamline back office systems by cutting down on time-consuming paper-based processes and helping the public and staff to accurately report the necessary information.

It will also cut down on printing and postage costs, and reduce paper waste.

517 planning enforcement actions taken by Bradford Council in 5 years

Coun Alex Ross-Shaw, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration, Planning and Transport, said: “We take planning breaches very seriously and carefully investigate all reports.

“The new system makes it easier for people to report potential breaches and is very easy to use. It will help people provide accurate information reducing the amount of back and forth associated with enforcement issues.

“In an environment characterised by significant funding reductions, it is important we do everything we can to reduce costs and introduce efficiencies.”
