A MAN suffered a broken leg in a serious assault.
North Yorkshire Police said an ambulance was called to assist the victim in Foss Island Road, near the former Carpet Right store in York.
The 47-year-old needed extensive hospital treatment, the force added.
In a statement, the force said: "The incident happened on February 20, 2019, but was only recently brought to the attention of police.
"Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who helped the 47-year-old victim after the incident, or witnessed what happened to him.
"Anyone with information should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two and ask for York CID.
