CITY Hall has been lit up in the colours of the rainbow to mark six months until the start of the UCI Road World Championships, which will be taking place in Yorkshire.
The championships, which will pit the world’s best male and female road racers against one another comes to the county in September.
Bradford will host the start of the Elite Women’s Road Race on September 28, which will start in City Hall before heading out through Manningham, Shipley, Baildon, Guiseley and Otley, eventually finishing in Harrogate.
Andy Hindley, chief executive of Yorkshire 2019, was on hand to celebrate the six months to go marker.
He said: “The countdown is most definitely on! We couldn’t be more excited and felt this was a bold and eye-catching way to mark the occasion.
“The next six months are going to be busy but everything is on track and we’re looking forward to hosting this once-in-a-generation event on behalf of Great Britain.”
