A BRADFORD primary school has been celebrating after receiving a large donation of books from Bradford-based supermarket giant Morrisons.
The bumper bundle of new books worth £100, was delivered to Thornbury Primary Leadership Academy as part of an initiative between the Morrisons Foundation and the National Literacy Trust.
The project aims to help children across Bradford fall in love with reading by increasing the choice of books available.
John Wilson, who works for Morrisons and also volunteers at the school’s breakfast club, presented the books, which include classics such as The Gruffalo, to the school.
Clare Daddy, principal at Thornbury, said: ““The children were thrilled to receive so many new books to read. The school would like to thank Morrisons for its kind donation of books.”
Mr Wilson added: “We were delighted to provide new books, and we hope it helps the children love reading.”
