FURNITURE retailer Ikea has teamed up with children’s charity Barnardo’s to provide less fortunate children with toys.

The retailer, which has a store in at Birstall Retail Park, is running the Toy Stor-age points next weekend, allowing customers to donate their unwanted stuffed animals and other toys, which will be passed to vulnerable children by Barnardo’s.

Visitors to the store who donate their unused and pre-loved toys will also be given a £10 discount voucher which can be redeemed when they spend £70 on Ikea’s wide range of toy storage products and solutions.

The event has been inspired by the upcoming Toy Story 4 film, which is in cinemas later this year.

The Toy Stor-age point will be running at Ikea Birstall from Friday, March 29, until Sunday, March 31.

Last year more than 300,000 children, young people, parents and carers were supported by Barnardo’s through more than 1,000 services across the UK, such training and skills or parenting classes for care leavers, young carers, foster carers and adoptive parents.
