LOCAL MPs have given their support to a campaign in Parliament urging the Government to make sanitary products for women free for all.
In the Spring Statement earlier this month, Chancellor Philip Hammond announced free sanitary products for secondary school and college students, to try and end period poverty.
However, local MPs have backed a letter by Janet Daby MP calling for this to be extended universally to all women and girls.
Bradford West MP Naz Shah, Batley and Spen MP Tracy Brabin, and Leeds North West MP Alex Sobel have all signed the letter and are supporting calls for sanitary products to be available for all women and girls.
The announcement by Philip Hammond was labelled a “huge step” by campaigners.
