BRADFORD Civic Society have launched a new photography competition to showcase the district’s best streets and neighbourhoods.

The competition, running throughout March, is encouraging residents of the district to send in creative or interesting images of their favourite streets, with a particular emphasis on residential areas.

The Civic Society are using a dedicated Instagram account, @streetsofbradfordto post the best images, and the winning photographs will be featured in Bradford Council’s new housing design guide, called Homes and Neighbourhoods: a Guide to Designing in Bradford.

The new guide is being produced following months of consultation and research in Bradford, and now it needs some iconic images of the district’s proud places to show future house-builders what people really value in the district.

A Bradford Civic Society spokesperson said: “Whether you’re a keen photographer with all the kit, or a smartphone snapper, we’d love to see photography that represents architecture, housing and street design at its best.

"Some examples will no doubt show a distinctively Bradford way of making places.”

The competition runs until the end of March. For more information visit bradfordcivicsociety.co.uk
