POLICE in Bradford South have seized more than 100 vehicles in just 21 days after a major operation in that area of the city.

Officers targeted criminals on the roads in the south of the city, and seized 108 vehicles during the operation, making 29 arrests.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team worked alongside the Roads Policing Unit, arrested the people for a range of offences, from driving offences to other serious crimes.

A total of £8,000 cash was also seized during the operation, which is thought to have been obtained illegally.

The operation ran from February 25 to March 17.

Inspector Shelley Slarke, who leads the Bradford South Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This operation was aimed at those who think they can drive around Bradford in vehicles without taxing or insuring them, as well as those who use the roads to commit crime.

“Criminals should be warned that more of these operations will follow, as we are committed to making Bradford safer for all.”
