TWO new non-executive directors have been appointed to Keighley brewery Timothy Taylor.

John Walsh and James Simpson are attending their first board meeting this month.

Their appointment follows the retirement last year of Diana Dent and Jonathan Gamble.

Mr Walsh is chairman, managing director and the major shareholder of textile firm Abraham Moon & Sons.

The Guiseley-based company, founded in 1837, lists major international brands including Burberry and Ralph Lauren among its customers.

Mr Simpson is managing director of Pol Roger Portfolio.

He has been with the firm, the UK agent for champagne producer Pol Roger, since 1993.

Timothy Taylor's chairman, Tim Clarke, welcomed the appointments.

He said: "We are delighted to have been able to appoint two exceptional individuals from businesses that have thrived by sharing the same ethos as ourselves – independence and a focus on developing a strong, premium brand in a highly competitive market.

"We look forward to benefiting from their experience."
