STAFF at Bradford College are set to go on strike for three days later this week in an ongoing dispute over pay in further education.

Members of the University and Colleges Union will strike from Wednesday 20 until Friday 22 over cuts to college funding, which has fallen by 30 per cent in the last ten years.

Almost 90 per cent of members who responded to ballots supported strike action at the college.

They join staff at 16 other post-16 colleges across the country who are walking out over pay disputes, calling for fairer pay and funding for colleges and their staff.

Bradford College said the college will remain open despite the industrial action.

A spokesperson said: “All College sites will remain open and accessible to students.

“Lessons will go ahead as planned or with alternative arrangements in place.”

Striking staff will be on the picket line outside the David Hockney Building from 7.30am each day.
