RESIDENTS including a 94-year-old woman were almost left stranded after the River Wharfe burst its banks.
Bradford Council leader Susan Hinchcliffe said some members of the community were struggling to get to their homes after the flood water cut them off.
Police were sent to help a Bradford Council care worker cross the floods so she could look after a 94-year-old woman in her home.
Insp David Harland, of West Yorkshire Police, said on Sunday morning the force was still reviewing the situation in Ilkley, with Officers being in the area providing support and assistance to members of the public where necessary.
