THE Fourth Industrial Revolution is to be the topic of conversation at Bradford Council’s latest Invest in Bradford event.

The free networking breakfast organised by the council’s Invest In Bradford team will take place at Victoria Hall in Saltaire on Friday, March 29 between 7.30am and 9.30am.

The event aims to raise awareness among Bradford businesses of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and how it can benefit their business.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution the current and developing environment in which technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, nanotechnology, quantum computing, Virtual Reality (VR), 5G wireless technologies, 3D printing and Artificial Intelligence are changing the way that we live, work and play. It is the fourth major industrial era since the initial Industrial Revolution in the late 18th century.

The event will also provide an opportunity for businesses to network and meet the experts.

Information on relevant sources of grant funding will be provided and Invest in Bradford business advisors will be on hand to offer guidance on this and to detail the Council’s wider support for businesses.

The event starts with a welcome from Dr John Baruch an expert in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and other speakers include innovation specialists Jane McGeeney and Andy Taylor from RTC North Ltd, Steve Wilkinson from local manufacturing consultants Cimlogic and Mark Cowgill from local internet service provider Exa Networks.

We already have companies who are working on these emerging technologies, which have the potential to connect more and more people and have a significant impact on improving business efficiency. I’m sure this event will attract a lot of interest from those who are keen to find out about how their business can take advantage of the opportunities it brings.”
