A COUPLE have become Bellway Homes' oldest ever buyers, snapping up a property on the firm's new Apperley Bridge development.

Joyce and Charlie Kirk, aged 86 and 91 respectively, who celebrate their 66th wedding anniversary this year, took the decision to downsize after the stairs in their old home became too much.

They were able to quickly find a perfect home at Bellway's Stone Bridge View development.

“We’d lived in Belgrave Mews for over 30-years and were really worried about finding somewhere that met our needs and could quickly become more than just a new house – we wanted to be able to call it home,” said Mrs Kirk.

“However, when we first came to visit Stone Bridge View with our son David, who lives just a few minutes away across the canal, we knew it was the place for us to be.”

The pair chose a two-bedroom ground floor apartment, which has a view of the canal.

While all 12 apartments on the development have been sold, a number of larger homes still remain at Stone Bridge View.
