A BRADFORD butchery apprentice met with MP Naz Shah as part of Morrisons Victoria’s celebrations for National Apprenticeship Week.
Morrisons invited the Bradford West MP to meet with Josh Weldon as the Girlington supermarket celebrated the role and achievements of its apprentices.
It follows an announcement from the chain that it plans to recruit 500 new apprentices including butchers, bakers and fishmongers by the end of the year.
Ms Shah said: "Apprenticeships are so important because they teach invaluable skills and knowledge in a hands on environment.
"I would encourage my constituents and beyond to seize the apprenticeship opportunities available that Morrisons.”
Morrisons Victoria store manager Richard Storey added: “We’re really proud to have talented apprentices at our store and across the Morrisons business who are interested and passionate about food making.
"We’re delighted that Ms Shah recognises the talent of all our craft apprentices and was impressed by Josh’s skills.”
Morrisons apprentices gain a qualification at the end of their course and the supermarket is now the largest employer of craft apprentices in the UK.
