A huge new family theme park resort is being built in South Yorkshire - and it's set to open next year.

Work is under way at the 250-acre Gulliver's Valley site to build the park, which will feature around 70 rides.

The attraction, at Rother Valley Country Park, near Rotherham, will be aimed at families with children aged two to 13, and will feature an indoor water play zone, indoor climbing centre and Blast Arena.

Families will also be able to stay at the resort. Planned accommodation includes self-catering woodland lodges and treehouses as well as a hotel.

There will also be nature trails and a woodland adventure centre offering outdoor activities.

Gully's Dream Village, where children with life-threatening illnesses can be given the chance to enjoy free respite, is also planned as part of the resort.

Gulliver's has three existing theme parks - Gullover's World in Warrington, Gulliver's Kingdom in Matlock Bath and Gulliver's Land in Milton Keynes.

Rother Valley Country Park is around an hour's drive from Bradford.
