FEROCIOUS northwesterly winds of up to 55mph are set to batter much of inland England and Wales, including Bradford, throughout Wednesday.
The speeds are expected to increase to a scary 65mph along western coasts.
This comes hot on the heels of a snow and ice warning that was issued for much of the UK overnight.
There were strong winds in Bradford yesterday too, and they are set to worsen in midweek.
On Wednesday, the Met Office has warned of possible travel disruption and has said that people should expect:
- Probably some bus and train services to be affected, with some journeys taking longer
- Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges
- The possibility of some short term loss of power and other services
- Some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities to be affected by spray and/or large waves.
The warning is currently in place between 00:15 and 15:00 on Wednesday.
