A POLICE cordon remains in place this afternoon after a body was found in a play area near a primary school.

West Yorkshire police confirmed the body of an adult had been found by a member of the public at 6.30am today.

The deceased was in a recreation ground at the top of Wrose Grove, in Shipley, which is adjacent to Low Ash Primary School.

A spokesman for the police said they had yet to identify the body and the next of kin. In the meantime they were unable to say whether the deceased was male or female or give an indication of their age.

The spokesman added that if anyone had any information in relation to the incident or who may have seen anything in the area before 6.30am to contact them on 101.
