A GP surgery has turned its fortunes around after being told to improve by health watchdog the Care Quality Commission (CQC) last year.

Inspectors visited The Bradford Moor Practice, at the Barkerend Health Centre, last November, judging it to be 'good' in all areas and overall.

Their report said: "Our most recent inspection found that significant improvements had been made in addressing previously identified issues."

The practice was said to have clear systems in place to manage risk, had created a targeted campaign to improve the uptake of cervical screening and offered resources to support identified carers.

Inspectors also highlighted how the practice routinely reviewed the effectiveness and appropriateness of its care and that staff treated patients with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect.

"There was a strong focus on continuous learning and improvement at all levels of the organisation," said the report.

In response to the report, the surgery said: "As a surgery we have worked very hard since the last inspection to achieve an overall rating as 'good'.

"We would like to thank everyone working at the practice, our patient participation group and all our patients for their help in achieving this result."
