COUNCIL bosses have approved plans to reduce the number of pupils at a Bradford primary school.
Yesterday Bradford Council's Executive agreed to changes at Princeville Primary School in Listerhills that will take place from September 2020.
The school will now become a two form entry - taking on 60 pupils a year, rather than a three form entry as it is now - taking on 90 pupils a year.
Council bosses to decide whether to cut pupil numbers at primary school
Members were told that the school was planning to downsize due to a drop in the number of families in the area looking for primary school places. The school was losing out on funding because it was not filling all its spaces.
Councillor Imran Khan, Executive member for education, said: "The school has asked for this. We did increase the admission numbers a few years ago and now the school is wanting to go the other way.
"There are significant financial consequences of the school not filling all its places."
