PREPARATORY work for a 319 home housing development in Bramhope will start in April.
Miller Homes is to build the properties, along with a convenience store, on a plot of land between Breary Lane East and the A660 Leeds Road.
The scheme will also involve road changes, including the creation of a new roundabout on Leeds Road at its junction with The Poplars, which will be carried out by Leeds City Council.
Miller Homes have told the council that they plan to begin work on the site next month.
The developer is to install a surface water ‘outfall’ sewer - which will connect to a watercourse at The Sycamores - to drain the land under plans agreed with the Flood Risk Management team,
The council expects the road changes meanwhile, to provide access to the development site and extra capacity for the increased traffic, to get underway ‘soon after’.
