VISIT a Mosque Day took place across the country today, with 11 mosques in Bradford taking part.

Among those opening their doors to people from all sorts of different backgrounds were Madni Masjid in West Bowling, the Al Markaz Centre in Lidget Green and the Masjid Quba in Manningham.

Bradford Central Mosque in Infirmary Street in the city centre also took part, and the Telegraph & Argus headed along to take pictures of the event.

Trustee Liaqat Hussain proved to be an engaging speaker at the event as he told stories and gave a guided tour to visitors.

There was some impressive art work and architecture on display, and Mr Hussain even treated us to a peek inside a 400-year-old Quran.

The police were also in attendance, with West Yorkshire Police - Bradford West posting a picture of the tasty food on offer from one of the venues.
