POLICE have launched a murder investigation after a man was found dead in the street in Manningham this morning.

Officers were called to Jinnah Court at 3.52am to reports of a man lying injured in the street.

On arrival, ambulance crews confirmed the man had died.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the incident, and remain in police custody at this time, and police enquiries are ongoing.

A police cordon is still in place at Jinnah Court with forensics officers also on site.

One resident who lives close to where the suspected murder happened said she did not hear any sirens or activity earlier this morning at the scene.

On hearing a suspected murder had taken place in the street, she said: "It is a bit scary hearing about this.

"It is just next to our house."

Despite a significant police presence in the street, the surrounding area, not far from where the former Drummond Mill was located in Lumb Lane, was very quiet this afternoon.

Anyone who has any information about the incident is asked to contact police by calling 101 quoting crime reference number 1319 0098637, or by using the live chat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website.
