A BRIGHOUSE nursery has improved from Good to Outstanding in its latest Ofsted inspection.

Little Learners Pre-School Daycare in Church Lane was praised for its “outstanding teaching”.

The report said: "The dedicated and highly passionate management team is determined to provide the very best experiences for all children.

“The inspirational, uncompromising pursuit for excellence ensures outstanding outcomes for children.

“Teaching across the setting is outstanding. The whole team have an excellent knowledge of the early years foundation stage.

“Staff use their remarkable observational skills to plan activities that challenge and stimulate children.

“Children show high levels of engagement in all the activities on offer. They are extremely confident and motivated learners.

“Staff monitor children’s progress exceptionally well. This enables them to quickly identify any gaps in children’s learning.

"All children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities, make rapid progress from their starting points.

"The highly effective key-person system helps children form secure bonds. Children settle well in this inviting and nurturing environment. Staff know the children and their families extremely well.

"They gather key information from parents when their children first start and use this information to help them settle. This gives children a sense of belonging.

"Partnerships with parents are excellent. The two-way process of information sharing ensures children’s learning is enhanced both at home and in the setting. Children are becoming extremely well prepared for the next stage in their learning."

To become even better, the pre-school was told to "build upon the already excellent self-evaluation strategies to further include the views of children".
