YOUNG musicians from an East Lancashire band are set to share a stage with a world-renowned outfit.

Performers with the 2nd Rossendale Scout Group Band, and Rossendale Male Voice Choir, will be joining the famed Brighouse and Rastrick Band at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall on June 7.

All proceeds from the gathering, from 7.30pm, will go to Blackburn's East Lancashire Hospice.

Scouts conductor Graham Helm has close ties with the hospice as his wife Paula was cared for there, before her death from pancreatic cancer in 2014.

He said: "The hospice gave us time, privacy and warmth."

Mr Helm has since raised thousands for the hospice since Paula's death in her memory.

He also said the concert would be "an exciting opportunity" for scout musicians, given Brighouse's reputation.

Tickets range from £17.50 and £22.50 each and can be booked by visiting the Bridgewater Hall website or by calling 0161 907 9000.
