A GROUP has cause for celebration after receiving more than £700 from the Skipton Building Society.

The money was awarded to the Manningham-based United Youth Forum, which helps children and young people get involved with sports.

The Manningham Football Academy and the Manningham All Stars junior teams were set up through the initiative. Between 80 and 120 young people play football through the academy each Saturday.

The building society raised a total of £737.54 for the organisation.

Some of the money will be spent on equipment, as well as taking youngsters out on a trip.

The organisation often takes those involved to different football games, both semi-professional and professional.

They have recently been to watch Bradford City, Halifax Town, and a Huddersfield v Arsenal game. They would now like take them to a UEFA Champions League or a Premier League game.

Some of the money will also go towards a minibus for the organisation.
