CREWS from two fire stations were called to a property in Manningham last night following a kitchen fire in a flat.
Firefighters from Fairweather Green and Shipley attended the fire at 10pm in Ashwell Road, Manningham, following reports of a flat fire.
When the crews arrived, they found the fire had been put out, but there was smoke damage in the kitchen, so crews used ventilation fans to clear the smoke.
The two occupants of the flat had been upstairs when the fire took hold, but were alerted by smoke alarms.
A spokesperson for Fairweather Green said: "This shows the importance of having working smoke detectors fitted in your home."
