THE founder of a Bradford-based Christian charity which helps transform the lives of struggling children has been shortlisted for a prestigious award.

Tim Morfin (pictured) launched TLG (Transforming Lives for Good) in 1998 to bring hope and a future to children unable to cope within school and at risk of exclusion.

TLG's 13 education centres give young people a second chance for an education, 110 early intervention centres provide extra support to children at risk of exclusion and 80 Make Lunch Kitchens tackle holiday hunger.

Tim has now been named one of only three finalists from across the UK for the 'Social Entrepreneur of the Year' award in the Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards, funded by the Citi Foundation.

Finalists are in the running for a £7,500 cash prize for their organisation.

Tim said: "This is tremendous encouragement for everyone playing their part in the TLG team - for the churches, the staff and volunteers who are serving struggling children in their communities up and down the country.”

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Liverpool on March 13.
