A PORT Glasgow school today paid an emotional tribute to the family of a ten-year-old boy who have donated a defibrillator in his memory.

St Francis' Primary's acting head teacher Jane Stinson was deeply moved by the presentation of a life-saving device for the school in memory of Jayden Orr.

She welcomed Jayden's family and friends to a special assembly raising awareness of the need for greater access to defibrillators and more CPR training.

Brave mum Kathleen set up a Tele-backed community campaign following the tragic death of her son in August 2017, to equip all schools with lifesaving devices.

Acting head Ms Stinson said: "It means a lot to us to be presented with this.

"This machine could save a life and our pupils will be having full CPR training.

"Jayden has many friends at our school."

Jayden's big sister Kerri Lynn and close family friends handed over the defib to St Francis', which has has supported the cause from the start and organised a special rainbow day in honour of Jayden.

Jackie Jackson, whose daughter Carmen Fabiani is at St Francis' Primary, said: "Kathleen is incredible and has been so brave.

"She wants to give something back in Jayden's memory and help other people."

Kerri added: "We can't thank St Francis Primary enough for all their support and also for the assembly."
