THE Queensbury 1940s event planned for June this year has been cancelled.
A change in circumstances has led the committee to take the decision to cancel this year's event and focus on ensuring it returns in 2020.
The event first began in the village back in 2014 and ran in its full form until 2017.
In 2018, it was scaled back to a smaller 1940s tea party and it was hoped it would return this year "bigger and better" than ever.
A number of fundraising events are now in the pipeline to help raise money for next year's event.
These may include a 1960s evening, a tea dance and a Northern Soul evening.
Stuart Walker (pictured), from the 1940s event committee, said the group is determined it will return and will be seeking out venues to host it.
