BRADFORDIANS from a diverse range of backgrounds are being encouraged to apply for a place on the Parole Board.
The Board is holding a recruitment event in Bradford on Friday, February 22, at the Bradford Hotel, in Hall Ings, to discuss why it must improve the diversity of its membership.
Martin Jones, CEO of the Parole Board said: “We simply do not have enough members from a BAME background and we are taking action to address this.
“One thing we can do is remove some of the barriers that people might feel before applying, to stop the idea that these roles are for a chosen few. I am 100% sure that there are people out there who can make a real contribution to the important decisions we make."
Speakers at the event will include Martin Jones, Nadeem Murtuja and current members.
The event runs from 10.30am to 12.30pm and the deadline to apply is Thursday, March 7.
