PLANS have been submitted for four new homes in Shipley.

The application concerns land at Dock Lane.

According to documents submitted on behalf of Mandale Homes, the land is currently vacant, made up of grassland with a number of trees and bushes.

The application says: "The site forms part of the former Bankside site being developed by our client for 74 dwellings."

It adds: "The wider site already has extant consent for the erection of 74 dwellings, which is being implemented currently.

"On this basis, it is clear housing development on the site is acceptable in principle. Whilst the development of an additional four units will take the total amount of units across the whole site to 78, this remains two less than the originally-consented 80, and as a result the principle of an additional four dwellings appears acceptable."

The proposed homes will be served by two private parking spaces and will be accessed "via a simple continuation of the access road within the site".

The application says the additional four homes "would not place any undue pressure on

the local highway network, with the Council previously resolving to grant consent for a scheme of 80 units."
