YORKSHIRE based Ginetta cars have sponsored talented cyclist, Billy Ladle, as he gears up for his first season in the under 10's youth series.

Billy, who is also a keen motorsports fan, is the third-generation cyclist in the Ladle family and is one of the brightest young cycling talents in Yorkshire.

Ginetta has an established relationship with cyclists after welcoming multi Olympic champion Chris Hoy and World Sprint Champion Jason Kenny to their motorsport family and are keen to encourage local youth talent.

Matt Lowe, Chief Executive of Ginetta Cars and an avid cycling fan himself, said: “We are pleased to support such a shining talent who encompasses the very same values as Ginetta – dedication, commitment and of course, speed. We are all looking forward to following Billy’s cycling this season and beyond.”

The eight-year-old from Garforth started riding a balance bike just after his first birthday and began competing aged four. Since then he has won over 100 races and has been National and Yorkshire Regional Champion.

During the racing season, Billy could be racing up to fives times each week and his talent has even taken him and his family across Europe, where in May 2018 he made his debut on the famous Paris-Roubaix cobbles.

Billy’s father, Jonathan Ladle, who is dedicated to training Billy to reach his potential as a cyclist, said, “Being a proud Yorkshire family, we are extremely grateful for the support from a world class car marque such as Ginetta. The sponsorship has given Billy a huge boost right at the start of the racing season. He has the talent, focus and desire to be the very best and we can’t wait to see where his cycling career takes him.”

Billy’s partnership with Ginetta has already secured him a road bike and full branded kit which he will wear throughout his 2019 racing season and he is excited to represent the brand.

His road racing kicks off later this month and will continue with various leagues, Roundhay Park grass track plus a return to the Paris-Roubaix and a first appearance in the Isle of Man and the Assen Youth Tour.
