A MAN had to be rescued from a car last night after the vehicle crashed and ended up on its roof in a stream.

Crews from Bingley fire station were called to the crash in Otley Road, Eldwick, at around 8.15pm to reports of a single vehicle crash.

When they arrived firefighters found a Mini had come off the road and ended up on its roof in a nearby stream.

There had been four people, a mixture of men and women inside the car, and when crews arrived three of the occupants had managed to free themselves, but one man was still "half in, half out" of the car and needed rescuing.

A spokesperson from Bingley fire station said crews used a longboard to extricate the man to a waiting ambulance.

He said the extent of the man's injuries were unknown.
