MYSTERY surrounds the circumstances in which blood-stained bedding was dumped in Holme Wood.
Police are now appealing for information.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said officers received a report just after 9pm on Saturday that a mattress and bedding stained with blood had been discarded in a car park off Heysham Drive.
The spokesperson said: "The items are believed to have been transported in a trailer to Heysham Drive on Saturday and officers are trying to trace where the items originally came from.
"Anyone with information on the incident or anyone who saw the trailer driving to the area with the items is asked to contact officers in Bradford CID.
"A 38-year-old man was arrested by officers and has been released without further action."
A police scene was in place while officers investigated.
Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting reference 13190060563.
