A SEA of floral tributes has been left at the scene where young father Brad Aldridge was killed in a car crash over the weekend. 

Emergency services were called to Harrogate Road, Undercliffe, at around 12.55pm on Sunday.

It's thought today would have been his 20th birthday and a balloon release is planned for 6pm tonight on Intake Terrace, Fagley, in a touching memorial. 

Penning an emotional tribute on Facebook, his girlfriend Shona Mcnulty wrote: "A big happy 20th birthday to you our special loving boyfriend, the best daddy Alfie could ask for he loved you so much you was so proud of him brad."

Well-wishers have also left tributes at the scene. 

One said: "You are going to be missed that cheeky smile. Always knew how to make everyone smile.

"Such a kind hearted boy. Will always cherish the memories we shared - forever in our hearts."

Another person wrote: "You will be missed dearly and loved forever. Thank you for all the memories growing up."

In a statement issued yesterday, West Yorkshire Police said: 

 "A black VW Golf was travelling in the direction of Undercliffe, when it collided with a white Hyundai. 

"The Golf was then in collision with a black Nissan Juke. A passenger in the Golf, a 19-year-old man, died as a result of his injuries from the collision.

"A second occupant in the car, a 21-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital.

"A third occupant, a 32-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving."

The spokesperson added: "Detectives in the Major Collision Enquiry Team are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who saw the vehicles involved driving in the area prior to the collision to contact police."

Anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident is also asked to contact officers.

UPDATE: Police have confirmed that the man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving has been released under investigation.
