A TEENAGER who stole a car to ferry his friends to steal three more cars has been jailed for more than four years.
Jared Lupton, 18, from Holme Wood, stole a BMW from an address in Guiseley on the night of Wednesday, November 21.
He used the car to transport three other people to an address in Alverthorpe, Wakefield, where they stole three more cars.
Lupton was seen by police immediately after the burglary and failed to stop for officers, leading them on a chase in the early hours of November 22, which ended in a crash at around 2am on Whitechapel Road, Cleckheaton, when the BMW burst into flames.
He was arrested at the scene and charged with burglary.
He pleaded guilty yesterday at Leeds Crown Court to burglary of a dwelling, handling stolen goods, three offences of theft and dangerous driving, and was handed a 50 month prison sentence.
